
A poet and photographer with an ongoing interest in the traditions and cultures of the Pacific rim, for many years Steve Lautermilch has worked in the deserts of the American southwest, exploring the sites and landscapes of the first peoples.
Short fiction has appeared in The Antigonish Review, The Crucifix Is Down, an anthology from Red Hen Press, and Thema. Poems have received major awards from The Comstock Review, Raleigh Review, and the New England Poetry Club. Figures for a Family Portrait (2018) won the Bright Hill Press Poetry Book Award. Rim (2010) won the Sow’s Ear Poetry Press Chapbook Award.
Shows have been held at the Getchell Library Gallery of the University of Nevada, Reno, the Glenn Eure Gallery in Nags Head, and the Festival Park Gallery on Roanoke Island in Manteo, North Carolina.
